Suzanne McNeil: News

My New Year's Gift - December 29, 2011

Well I can talk again! I went to the doctor yesterday and my vocal chords are healed. My vocal tone and range are better than ever. I can't tell you how happy and "relieved" I am. Mass General, you have saved my singing career! Thank you everyone for helping me get through some pretty rough days. I should be back to "performing" much sooner that the doctor expected. XO Thanks again

Silent Night - December 24, 2011

"Silent Night Holy Night"

Skype - December 19, 2011

Day 4 of not talking. Thank God for Skype. I Skyped my family in Cape Breton and all I had to do was type any questions at the bottom of the screen and they answered. I had visions of them reading my white board backwards and me getting really frustrated. Today I am so very thankful for technology. God I am talking A LOT in my dreams!

Love my Boston - December 16, 2011

Well surgery is over, I don't remember a thing. I'm home in bed. Thank you so much for all your love, I felt if for sure! I'm still a little out of it, and my throat is very very sore, but it's over thank God. Times like these make me love my BOSTON so much when we have the best surgeons in the world here, oh and let's not forget the BRUINS. Thanks again everybody. xoxox

Praying for a surgeon's steady hand! - December 15, 2011

Well tomorrow morning I am having microlaryngoscopic surgery, which is a fancy word for removing polyps off of my vocal chords. Yes, it is the same surgery that Adel had, except there are no lasers involved ( because there is no bleeding and the polyps are smaller than hers were.) After surgery I am on vocal rest for 14 days. I have my white board around my neck ready! There is a 100 percent vocal recovery expected ( fingers crossed) Let's just say, it's going to be a QUIET Christmas

Willow Release Party Review - October 27, 2010

LOCAL SHINDIG: A massive  turnout for last Sunday’s CD release  for Quincy’s Suzanne McNeil at  Dante’s at Firefly’s in the city. Braintree guitarist Tim Mahoney doubtless  won many new fans with his sizzling  set, celebrating his own CD debut,  which is mainstream rock with melodic grace and plenty of power. Much of  the South Shore music community  turned out, including Quincy rocker  Tom McGinnis, whose reformed ’80s  band was fresh off packing The  Beachcomber the night before, the  Marsdens, proud parents of one-fourth  of the hot power-pop group A Loss for  Words, and Rockland’s Jim Saley,  blues photo-journalist.

Lipstick and Laughs - April 16, 2010

Lipstick and Laughs Tour Kicks Off In Iowa

Singer Songwriters Jill Miller, Diona Devincenzi, and Suzanne McNeil kick off their Nashville style “IN THE ROUND, ON THE ROAD“ Show called LIPSTICK AND LAUGHS making their first stop on April 27th in Cherokee, Iowa at The Gathering Place. They will then be performing various “House Concerts” through May 1st in the Sioux City area.
House concerts are a fresh, new way to experience live music. A house concert can be a wonderful way to gather friends and family together and listen to live music without going out to a loud or noisy club. It’s a concert that is held in the comfort of your living room or backyard.

Diona Devincenzi is from Nashville, and has a vocal style that is rich in jazz and blues overtones. Suzanne McNeil is from Boston, Massachusetts whose sound reminds you of Sheryl Crow’s pop and rock roots. Sioux City’s Songbird Jill Miller has a reminiscent style of Amy Grant and Shania Twain.

All three women are songwriters, and most of their show will consist of their original songs. Their shows will be bringing a little bit of Nashville’s style of” in the round” songwriter’s nights held at such famous venues as the Bluebird Café and Douglas Corner right to the comfort of people’s homes. These three distinct styles combine together to create an amazing musical texture, not to mention some great storytelling and laughs.
All three women have their own solo careers and met in Nashville at a songwriting workshop sponsored by the Nashville Songwriter’s Association International. All three have individual solo CD projects available, as well as a special EP they have recorded in Nashville especially for this tour, including a theme song the trio wrote together called “Lipstick and a Laugh.”
